Senior Grant Accountant
Roxbury, MA - ONSITE REQUIRED
Full Time- flexible start and end times
Temporary to Hire
$35-41/hour dependent on experience
Our Nonprofit client headquartered in Roxbury; MA is seeking a full cycle Senior Accountant with Grant experience. This position will report to the Finance Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 5+ years of experience in grant accounting, nonprofit accounting, or financial management, with a strong understanding of GAAP.
- Prepare Budgets, Financial reports, track, archive and respond to grant requestions
- Ensure budgets coordinating the reporting, billings, grant reconciliation
- MS Office, Advanced Excel, Yardi Experience Required
- Experience with federal and state grant regulations, including knowledge of UFR reporting required
Responsibilities:
- Perform month end close process, including preparing or approving journal entries, reconciling accounts and reporting
- Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Performs financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, budget monitoring and variance analysis.
- Prepare and assist in preparation of fiscal and other elements of reports to grantees and government funders.
- Oversees grant billing processes to ensure compliance and coordinates with other departments as required.
- Assists with pre-award responsibilities, including grant preparation, budget development and application submission.
- Review and approve monthly and quarterly grant reimbursement invoices to respective agencies.
- Monitor payment and follow up to resolve issues.
- Prepare grant budgets, budget revisions, and forecasts in coordination with program managers.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts for grant transactions and verify expenses align with approved budgets.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Analyze financial data to assess the financial performance of grant-funded projects.
- Communicate with grantors regarding reporting, budget adjustments, and any financial questions.
