Position Summary:
- Responsible for providing support and guidance to students as they transition from high school to college or the workforce.
- Provide individual and group advising to students on academic and career planning.
- Works with students to develop their academic and career goals, identify resources, and support services, and navigate the college or workforce application process.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations on college and career readiness.
- Work with students to identify and apply for financial aid.
- Coordinate with other campus departments and community agencies to provide support services to students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Report on program effectiveness to stakeholders
- Required
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field, 2 years of experience working with students in a college or career readiness setting.
- Preferred
- Master's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Training in trauma-informed practices.
