.Overview
CBS seeks a detail-oriented Grants Manager with strong writing and organizational skills. The Grants Manager partners with senior leadership to identify, prepare, submit, and manage grant systems for CBS clients. The Grants Manager coordinates all activities pertaining to grants, including application, submission, follow-up communications, and required reporting for each grant. Grants Manager maintains an accessible annual grants calendar, and uses CBS systems to track individual grant proposals and produce intermittent (or as needed) grant status and funding reports. The Grants Manager is responsible for ensuring drafting, completion, and follow-up of grant applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Management
- Organize the oversight, writing, submission, and reporting associated with all grants;
- Partner with senior leadership to support the overall development strategy
Financial
- Monitor and report on grant writing, submission, and reporting activities as requested;
- Work with the finance department and CBS leadership to provide precise and complete financial reporting
Reporting
- Partner in close working relationships with CBS team and organizational directors (as needed) to understand plans and report on accomplishments, upcoming projects and events, and overall goals and objectives;
- Ensure the completion of applications and grant reports in a timely fashion.
Fundraising
- Coordinate all grant requests with CBS staff and leadership;
- Assist in strengthening the CBS client portfolio overall fundraising capacity
- Ensure that all prospect lists, invitation lists, pledge forms, and new donor input into software is accurate and consistent with donors’ intentions;
- Maintain records in clear, concise fashion, making certain that all are available to pertinent staff
Research
- Identify the priorities of grant making institutions that align with overall mission of the organizations and communicate client programs accordingly in proposals
- Utilize internal resources to develop proposals and supplement with additional information from external research
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years experience writing grant proposals and maintaining relationships with charitable foundations and donors
- History working with diverse national grant making organizations, national partners and private foundations
- Excellent computer skills and fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Accurate data entry into and retrievals from databases and grant portals
- Excellent writing skills, with ability to synthesize complex information from strategic plans and other proposals into concise fundraising pitches
- Ability to learn and incorporate guidance on 501c3 and 501c4 compliance requirements
- Skill in effectively handling multiple overlapping deadlines required
- Must be collaborative and be able to work independently and as part of a multiracial, multi-faith, intergenerational team
- Must have excellent judgment, confidentiality, maturity, and decision-making skills
- Must take pride in building relationships, producing quality work and learning new things
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the flexibility to step-in and embrace grant management tasks that emerge
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and deal calmly and effectively in high urgency situations
Position Details:
Salary range will be between $80,000 - $90,000 depending upon level of experience. Please note that this is not an entry level position. Schedule will be flexible, with meetings and occasional webinars during normal business hours for bi-costal clients. Some evening and weekend work may be required to make deadlines. This position will be full time, with full medical and dental. This position will be paid bi-weekly for the duration of your employment and additional benefits as covered in the employee handbook. This is a remote position that does not require you to be in-office, but occasional travel will be required.
