VETSTART Grant Project 2022 - 2025
The University of St. Thomas, a private university (www.stthom.edu) committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking a Grant Project Manager for the VETSTART grant. This full-time position reports to the Project Director and is the central point of contact for grant program activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for:
- Day to day grant operations, to include: fiscal/budget management, metric and outcomes assessment, and support/development/implementation of grant-funded projects.
- Tracking and reporting on veteran student enrollment, retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
- Providing coaching services to military-connected students, to include planning and executing student engagement activities aimed at increasing student success.
- Referring students for additional supportive services, academic support, refresher courses, additional tutoring, and mentoring as necessary.
- Creating partnerships and sponsorships with veteran-friendly and veteran-serving agencies, groups, and organizations.
- Supporting project evaluation; working with Project Director, Program Evaluator, and OSR to submit annual and final performance reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master's degree and background in social services, education, psychology, or counseling.
- Seven years of experience serving veterans at the college level. and three years as a program director with budget, compliance, and outreach duties.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills.
- Excellent rapport with university-wide communities and external resources.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Veterans will receive preference for this position, particularly those who have participated in veteran student support programs.
This is a federally funded, full-time, year-round, benefit-eligible professional position.
