Corporate Initiatives Coordinator - Grant Writer
Easterseals New Jersey, one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the state that supports people with disabilities and special needs has an exciting new position for someone who has success in writing and developing grant proposals and who has a propensity to drive business growth through new, innovative revenue streams.
The ideal candidate will be:
- A strong communicator and collaborator.
- Able to write and prepare compelling grant proposals for social services, health, or disability sectors.
- Knowledgeable in building and maintaining relationships with potential donors, funders, and key external partners.
- Knowledgeable with government regulations and compliance requirements related to disability services and nonprofit funding.
- Eager to seek out alternative revenue streams to advance business initiatives.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Grant Writing & Management:
- Research and identify potential public and private grant opportunities aligned with Easterseals NJ's mission and program needs.
- Write, prepare, and submit compelling grant proposals, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with funder guidelines.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including proposal development, submission, follow-up, and reporting.
- Maintain a calendar of deadlines for applications, renewals, and reports.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary data and information for grant applications.
- Monitor and track grant funding to ensure proper reporting and compliance.
Increase Revenue Streams:
Assist in identifying alternative revenue streams to expand Easterseals NJ’s programs and services, including partnerships with corporate sponsors, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
Research market trends, community needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for expansion and innovation.
Collaboration & Strategy:
- Work closely with program directors, finance, and marketing teams to ensure alignment of funding priorities with Easterseals NJ’s overall mission and strategic goals.
- Assist in drafting business plans, program proposals, and financial projections for new initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance in developing creative approaches to diversify revenue streams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, business development, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of securing grants and developing successful business partnerships.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive grant proposals and compelling presentations.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- Knowledge of the nonprofit sector, including funding sources, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM or grant management software.
- Experience with proposal development for social services, health, or disability sectors.
- Knowledge of government regulations and compliance requirements related to disability services and nonprofit funding.
- Experience working with data analysis tools to assess program outcomes and report on the effectiveness of grants and fundraising campaigns.
- Leadership or team management experience, especially in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
