About the Job
A Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of foods on the grill, ensuring high quality and timely preparation. The Grill Cook must follow all safety and sanitation procedures while working in a fast-paced environment to deliver a positive dining experience to customers.
Food Preparation:
- Prepare and grill food items according to standardized recipes and instructions.
- Ensure proper portion sizes and presentation of food items.
- Monitor and maintain the grill station and other equipment, ensuring they are clean and functional.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all food is cooked to the proper temperature and follows food safety standards.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen,
- Regularly check food items for quality and freshness
Coordination and Timing:
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Manage grill station inventory and report shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Work with speed and accuracy to meet service demands.
Customer Service:
- Communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Handle special requests and dietary restrictions with care and precision.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a grill cook or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of grilling techniques and equipment.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
- Comfortable working in high-temperature environments.
Work Environment:

- Exposure to heat, noise, and cooking odors.
