Job Title: Conditioner
Location: South Gate, CA 90280
Rate: $16.50/hr-$17/hr – depends on experience
Shift: 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm OR 2nd shift: 2pm - 10:30pm - Monday through Friday
Length: Length: 4-6 month contract to possible hire depending on attendance, performance and business needs.

3 must haves:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a willingness to learn forging, blacksmiths or hot forging
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Performs final surface inspection and conditioning of forged parts prior to shipment to customer.
- Applies in process identification to products per instructions.
- Conditions surface of in process parts.
- Operates hand grinding machine and observes operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction. Changes wheels and parts as trained.
- Measure’s part dimensions to determine accuracy of grinding operation.
- Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from part.
- Maintains work area daily to be clean and free of safety hazards.
- Performs other routine duties.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Less than high school education; or up to one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary
