Ohio Means Jobs Cuyahoga County is sourcing a Ground Service Equipment Technician for a national calibration and compliance services provider in Mentor, Ohio.
Position Overview
This company is currently expanding its team of technicians in its accredited calibration laboratory and repair shop that specializes in Ground Service Equipment (GSE) maintenance and repair. It is looking for a skilled mechanic to provide maintenance and repairs on various types of ground support equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Service varying types of GSE which include but not limited to: aircraft jacks, hydraulic power units, ground power units, towing equipment and vehicles, engine slings and hoists, etc.
- Perform proof load testing on aircraft jacks and other lifting equipment
- Repair and rebuild hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot issues or problems with equipment and determine repairs needed
- Verify proper operation of equipment in accordance with OEM manuals and testing procedures
- Calibrate varying gauges such as pressure gauges, temperature gauges, and flow meters
- Document all work performed and complete service reports
- Communicate with customers and answer questions on services performed
- Maintain a clean and safe shop
- Traveling to local and non-local customer facilities is required. Overnight trips across the USA happen frequently
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use common hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures in OEM and service manuals
- Mechanically inclined and detail oriented
- Must be computer literate and willing to learn how to use the company's software systems
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license and acceptable driver history
Mechanical experience of any kind is beneficial. Previous experience working with GSE is a plus, but not required.
Applicant must hold a valid driver's license and be a U.S. Citizen or be a U.S. Permanent Resident.

- Ability to lift 75 lbs
