Position Summary:
The Group Facilitator is responsible for leading therapeutic group sessions for individuals enrolled in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse treatment. The facilitator will focus on supporting clients through their recovery journey by addressing
addiction, co-occurring disorders, relapse prevention, and life skills development. The Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) will utilize evidence-based practices to ensure a structured, safe, and supportive environment for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate Group Therapy Sessions:
o Lead daily/weekly group therapy sessions focused on substance use recovery, coping
strategies, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation.
o Create a therapeutic environment that encourages open discussion, peer support, and engagement.
2. Provide Psychoeducation:
o Educate clients on the effects of addiction on mental and physical health.
o Teach coping strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and life skills necessary for
sustained sobriety and overall wellness.
3. Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team:
o Work closely with case managers, therapists, and medical staff to ensure that each client's treatment plan is followed and updated as necessary.
o Participate in weekly clinical meetings to discuss client progress and adjust treatment
strategies as needed.
4. Documentation:
o Maintain accurate and timely records of group sessions, including attendance, progress notes, and any behavioral observations.
o Assist in preparing reports and assessments required for client treatment plans.
5. Individual Support:
o Provide one-on-one support to clients when necessary, addressing specific concerns related to their recovery and participation in group sessions.
6. Crisis Management:
o Respond to any behavioral or emotional crises that may arise during group sessions, ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients.
7. Adhere to Ethical and Professional Standards:
o Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as the ethical standards of the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential.
o Maintain confidentiality and respect for clients at all times.
Qualifications:
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in the state of Idaho.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with individuals in substance use treatment,
specifically in a PHP/IOP setting.
Strong understanding of evidence-based practices for substance abuse and co-occurring mental
health disorders.
Excellent group facilitation skills and the ability to engage clients in meaningful therapeutic
discussions.
Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and care.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and the ability to maintain client confidentiality.
Working Conditions:
The position is located in an outpatient treatment setting with regular group sessions.
Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings or weekends as needed.
Pay: $23-$25/hr
