Job Summary:
The Group Purchasing Manager for Thermal Systems will be responsible for leading the procurement strategy and operations for all thermal management components, including HVAC systems, radiators, cooling systems, and related parts. This role will oversee supplier selection, contract negotiations, cost optimization, and quality assurance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality thermal components that meet the company's performance and cost targets. The manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align purchasing activities with product development and manufacturing objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute the purchasing strategy for thermal systems components, including HVAC, radiators, condensers, fans, and cooling modules, ensuring alignment with company goals for cost, quality, and delivery.

Lead the sourcing and supplier management process for thermal system components, including RFQs, supplier negotiations, and performance evaluations.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive cost structures while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous supply, quality improvements, and cost reductions.

Collaborate with engineering, product development, and manufacturing teams to ensure thermal system components meet technical specifications and production timelines.

Monitor global market trends, raw material costs, and supply chain risks to make informed decisions and ensure competitive pricing.

Manage and resolve supplier performance issues, quality concerns, and delivery delays in a proactive and timely manner.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the procurement process, reduce lead times, and achieve cost savings.

Develop and manage the purchasing budget for thermal systems, ensuring alignment with departmental and company financial objectives.

Conduct supplier audits and quality assessments to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.

Provide leadership and direction to the purchasing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Represent the purchasing function in cross-functional meetings, providing updates to senior management on purchasing strategies, challenges, and performance metrics.

Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations in the procurement of thermal system components.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

8+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on automotive thermal systems or related components.

Proven leadership experience in managing a team or leading cross-functional procurement projects.

Strong understanding of thermal systems in automotive applications, including HVAC systems, radiators, and cooling components.

Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with a history of achieving cost savings while maintaining supplier relationships.

Familiarity with global sourcing, supplier evaluation, and market trends in the automotive thermal systems sector.

Experience with purchasing tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage supplier performance issues and drive resolution.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence decision-making across cross-functional teams.

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced automotive development environment.
