Title: Guidewire Policy Center Architect
Duration: Long Term Contract to Hire (Remote)

ROLE SUMMARY
The Guidewire Policy Center Architect plays a pivotal role in crafting and executing solutions with the platform's latest advancements. With an in-depth grasp of the new features, modules, and integration frameworks of version 10, the architect spearheads technical design, aligns it with business goals and IT strategies, and enhances our Guidewire ecosystem's functionality.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Architect, Design and implement robust, scalable solutions using Guidewire Policy Center v10 to meet business requirements.
• Translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions within the Policy Center v10 framework.
• Lead and guide product modeling reviews, required technical design, and configurations for new products.
• Stay updated with the latest features / improvements of Guidewire Policy Center v10 and evaluate their impact and potential for the organization. Assess and recommend the use of new Guidewire Policy Center v10 features in future releases.
Ensure adherence to best practices in architecture and design across the Guidewire ecosystem.
• Configure and extend products, screens, flows, business logic, and rating rules using Guidewire Studio.
• Leverage available accelerators to expedite development activities and reuse effectively proven architectural patterns.
• Perform minor / major Guidewire software upgrades.
• Ensure that respective production, non-production environments, and branching (feature / main / release) are set up, functional, and updated as development occurs across different product lines.
• Provide mentorship to development teams, ensuring technical leadership and oversight.
• Manage and lead the overall technical solution design and delivery through coordination with all stakeholders.
• Lead onshore / offshore development teams for scheduling and managing assigned tasks and milestones.
Provide periodic updates through TFS or other life-cycle management tools / processes for full visibility and transparency into the development activities.
• Work with Project Management and Analysis teams to understand requirements and help with scoping, sizing, and planning.
• Provide guidance to the QA team on impact so proper test cases are conceived.
• Collaborate with Guidewire, third-party vendors, and other development teams to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive insurance platform.
• Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote continuous improvement through the evaluation of alternative technologies and methodologies.
• Manage, maintain, and given engineering standards around security, logging, alerting, coding, build, deployment, integration, and orchestrations.
• Ensure GUnit test cases are integrated into solutions and are part of CI/CD pipelines, with 80% and greater code coverage.
• Help script and automate deployments to reduce manual tasks.
• Manage and maintain the technical / solution documentation including architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, deployment diagrams, and production runbooks.
• Manage production applications to KPIs and troubleshoot performance issues at multiple layers from hardware, operating environment, network, and application.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 5 years of experience with Guidewire Policy Center development as an Architect, with minimum of three end-to-end commercial policy products implementations.
• At least 8 years of experience with implementation of multiple Guidewire products.
• At least 8 years of experience in Guidewire Software Suite of applications.
• At least 10 years of Java development experience
• Possess demonstrated expertise and experience in Guidewire APIs, Product Designer, Product Model development, GX Model, and integrations.
• Possess knowledge and experience with Guidewire Rating engine, Rating workbooks, and Rating logic configurations.
• Possess experience with Guidewire Renewal API, with an overall knowledge of data migration approach is highly preferred.
• Experience is required with ALM best-practices in managing code versioning (and associated environments), integration, releasing, and maintaining Guidewire Policy Center products (during development and in production as application owner).
• Experience with installing, partitioning, and managing Guidewire suite applications – for high performance, scalability, and reuse.
• Knowledgable of secure software development practices and expert understanding of architectural standards, patterns and best practices with respect to Guidewire configuration and integration is required.
• Possess experience with Agile SCRUM methodology and tools (TFS, Rally, JIRA, etc.) in a technical leadership capacity.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Commercial P&C insurance knowledge is highly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Possess strong and demonstrable leadership and application ownership (post-implementation) with Guidewire Policy Center product implementations – is required.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and adept at guiding teams to solutions.
• Certification in Guidewire Policy Center with demonstrated hands-on experience is preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field is strongly preferred.
