About the Job
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Handyman will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
? Performs non-technical general building maintenance, light custodial, and minor repair duties
? Aligns with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety
? Performs general labor work as assigned, including loading, unloading, and moving materials
? Runs errands to support projects
? Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps
? Maintains grounds of facility or property performing such tasks as raking, sweeping, or leaf blowing.
? Identifies and reports maintenance hazards or other property condition concerns
? Performs housekeeping functions and maintains the professional appearance of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas
? Paints and patches drywall
? Performs other minor repairs under supervision
? Facilitates office access and moves by providing moving crates, assembling furniture, office keys, nameplates, etc.
? Responds quickly to emergencies, summoning additional assistance as needed
? Prepares meetings and conference rooms, arranging tables and chairs as requested
? May set up audio/visual equipment, flip charts, and TVs within conference rooms and pick up when completed
? Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work
? Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury and/or stop work if required
? Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
? Minimum of 5 years of experience in repair and maintenance of facilities to include carpentry, painting, plumbing.
? Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
? High school education or equivalent
? Must have a valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance
? Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and senior maintenance personnel
? Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
? Excellent organizational and time management skills.
? Self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement
? Ability to use various measuring devices to check values and dimensions against allowable tolerances.
? Enable to read and understand prints, diagrams, drawings accurately, and symbols.
? Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
? Dependable and reliable.
? Ability to apply basic concepts of math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using weights, measures, and percentages.
? Ability to identify problems and review relevant information to evaluate options and develop solutions and ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
? Basic understanding of plumbing, and carpentry.
? Ability to work with minimal supervision.
? Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented.
? Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multitask.
? Performs all job functions in a safe manner following all established safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Skills/Abilities Required:
? Must be able to operate a forklift and successfully recertify annually.
? Provide training and certification to forklift drivers as needed (new hires and existing employees as per schedule).
