Job Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and skilled Handyman to undertake various maintenance and repair tasks around our facilities. The ideal candidate will be able to perform a wide range of maintenance duties, including minor repairs, installations, and routine maintenance checks. The handyman should be a jack-of-all-trades, capable of tackling various repair jobs around the facility efficiently and with a high level of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of general repair tasks, including minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
• Inspect buildings and systems to identify areas that require maintenance or repair.
• Repair doors, locks, windows, and other structural elements as needed.
• Replace light bulbs, fixtures, outlets, switches, and other electrical components.
• Troubleshoot and fix plumbing issues such as leaky faucets, toilets, and clogged drains.
• Conduct basic HVAC maintenance tasks, such as changing filters and clearing debris.
• Perform minor drywall repairs, including patching holes, sanding, and painting.
• Assemble furniture, equipment, or shelving units as required.
• Install and repair flooring, including tile, laminate, or hardwood.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Respond to work orders and complete maintenance tasks promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and repairs.
• Assist with exterior maintenance, including fence repairs, landscaping, and minor roofing work.
• Perform seasonal maintenance tasks, such as gutter cleaning, snow removal, and winterizing.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in maintenance fields preferred.
• Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general repair work.
• Ability to use common hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with residential or commercial building systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and carry out repairs efficiently.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact with tenants, property managers, or customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
