The application window has been extended and is expected to close on 10/27/2024This is an onsite role and will require working out of the San Jose office location.Who We Are:Common Hardware Group (CHG) Board Mounted Power is a central team that supports power design across various products, such as Cisco 8000 Series Routers, Catalyst 9000 switches, IoT, and many others.What you'll do:As a power Engineer, you will develop highly reliable Board-Mounted Power (BMP) Systems for Cisco's networking products
These products range from 10W IP phones to 3000W+ Data Center and Service Provider switches and routers
This individual will be part of the power development team and responsible for all aspects of the BMP System design.Responsibilities:Develop and qualify BMP Systems to meet the power requirements of new products.Participate in power design verification testsDevelop and execute test plans for upcoming power designsDocument procedures, plans, and specifications used by the BMP teamEnsure that all hardware engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectivesAssist in the resolution of power-related field/product issues for assigned projectsWho You'll Work WithAs part of the central hardware power engineering group, you will collaborate with various functions like Hardware Design and Test, ASIC Design and Test, Power Engineering, Signal Integrity, EMC / EMI, and Mechanical Design, expanding the breadth of your knowledge, designing power and delivering amazing products to the market.Who You Are You have a background in analog or power design and can learn quickly.Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to think and act pro-actively and drive issues to resolutionAbility to work effectively with multi-functional teamsExcellent presentation skills, with a focus on addressing various audiences effectivelyAbility to quickly document the results of your work in a clear, concise, and complete mannerMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or power electronics with 6+ years of related experience or a Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering or power electronics with 4+ years of related experience.Experience with power design, analog design, OR power electronics.Experience with design tools: Examples: Cadence, Allegro, LTspice, PSpicePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge and interest in both Board Mounted and Front End Power designKnowledge of all power design topologiesSchematic capture and CAD layout review toolsExpertise in Power integrity simulation tools - PowerDC, SIWave, Hyperlinx, PCB, and co-pkg simulationsExperience using Stability analyzers, oscilloscopes, function generators, electronic loads, and bench power supplies.Why Cisco? #WeAreCisco

For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target
Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
