Hardware Engineer - FPGA, Aerospace / Defense at Engineering Resource Group

Description

• Contract position for an Electrical Engineer to provide on site and in office hardware and firmware design of circuits for satellite communication systems for a developer of RF Systems for aerospace and military applications.
• Position task needs are approximately 1-2 months.
• Interface with layout vendor for design rules and routing guidelines to provide constraints for specific nets.
• Work with PCB Manufacturer to select PCB laminate material and provide feedback of PCB stackups.
• Work with mechanical engineer in the component selection of connectors and cables to optimize the design for functionality and ease of assembly while meeting design criteria.

Requirements

• BS Electrical Engineering
• Experience with circuit design and schematic capture experience using Cadence Orcad and Allegro (Version 17.4+).
• Experience with and ability to select components based upon need and create schematic symbols.
• Ability to do basic floor planning of components due to tight board constraints.
• Ability to import new DXF files.
• Experience with PCB layout design rules and routing guidelines to provide constraints for specific nets.
• Experience in selecting PCB laminate material and provide feedback of PCB stackups.
• Experience with Intel/Altera FPGAs and Quartus to create FPGA pinouts and capture in schematic.
• Knowledge of VHDL .
• Hands on experience building and loading design in the lab for test.
• Knowledge of TCL a plus for lab debugging.
• Experience with component selection of connectors and cables that fit tight design parameters.
• US Citizenship required due to defense contract project requirements.
• Experience with ARRIA 10 / Stratix 10 / Agilex a plus.
• Experience with Platform Designer and ARM HPS system a plus.
• Experience with dense layouts a plus.
• Experience with CubeSats and Satellites a plus.
• Knowledge of Source control: i.e. GIT a plus.
• Knowledge of Capture CIS database a plus.
