About the Job
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead PLC Siemens Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of Siemens control systems across various projects. This role requires in-depth technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead the engineering team in the planning, development, and execution of PLC projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
System Design and Implementation:
- Design and configure PLC systems to meet specific process requirements.
- Develop and program PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems.
- Implement and test system configurations, including hardware and software components.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure the quality of engineering deliverables.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in PLC technology and industry trends.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed engineering documents, including design specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.
- Generate progress reports and present project status to management and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all engineering activities and system configurations.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide on-site and remote support for PLC systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and optimizations to enhance performance and reliability.
- Assist in the development and execution of system validation and commissioning activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in PLC engineering, with a focus on design, programming, and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems from major manufacturers preferable Siemens
- Proven experience in leading engineering projects and managing teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for project requirements.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, biopharma or medical devices industries.
Nice to have, but not required
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards, such as OSHA, NFPA, and IEC.
- Certification in PLC programming or related control systems.
- Proficiency in related software tools and programming languages.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation, with a strong emphasis on process and project engineering. • Technical Skills: o Proficiency in programming and configuring Rockwell ControlLogix PLCs. o Extensive knowledge of Allen-Bradley MCCs and their integration. o Familiarity with Schneider Electric switchgear and its applications. o Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus). o Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control system design. • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination. • Soft Skills: o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. o Effective communication and interpersonal skills. o Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Preferred Qualifications: • Certification in Rockwell Automation technologies. • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, particularly Rockwell FactoryTalk. • Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations.
