Regular, Part-Time to Full-Time (75-100% FTE), Limited-Term (not to exceed twelve (12) months in duration), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the College of Social Sciences, Social Science Research Institute (SSRI), Hawaii Coral Reef Initiative (HCRI), located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Primary work location will be on Oahu.
Telework (from employees residence city and state) may be permissible subject to review and approval by Principal Investigator and RCUH. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MONTHLY SALARY: $3,750 - $5,000/Mon (@75-100% FTE).
DUTIES: Serves as central project representative for resource responsibilities. Designs and provides training to HCRI staff. Directs, oversees, and assigns work to project staff. Provides leadership and guidance, leads meetings to coordinate activities, discuss problems and identify solutions to achieve defined targets. Oversees, trains, supports and evaluates staff and establishes and monitors their work schedules. Participates in human resources management, space utilization, policies and procedures. Promotes staff development activities. Utilizes good judgment in reviewing timesheets and vacation leave for staff. Ensures safety procedures are followed. Ensures HCRI business processes operate in a smooth, efficient manner by developing, analyzing, reviewing, and implementing administrative systems and controls. Evaluates internal processes, direction, and practices, which require consideration and integration of specialized needs and modification to fit a wide range of variables. Recommends improvements to the design and structure of workflow to solve potential problems or strengthen performance. Provides recommendations on how to improve operations or procedures. Develops guidelines (e.g., work tools, expenditures, execution, and human capital). Researches requirements and ensures compliance with them. Drafts, compiles, and edits reports (which may include maps). Ensures that information is organized and stored appropriately. Maintains a library of resources and reference material.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.
EXPERIENCE
Four to six (4-6) years of experience in grants development

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the administrative policies and procedures of UH and RCUH. Knowledge of financial statements and procurement software, such as Kuali Financial System (KFS), RCUH Financial Portal, OR knowledge of or personnel management software, such as RCUH Human Resources Portal. Knowledge of principles pertaining to grants and contracts, including preparation, language, and agreement modifications. Knowledge of budget development, fiscal procedures, or position development, and general research. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
