Wild Spring Dunes, a 2,400-acre sanctuary for golf and wilderness enthusiasts, is looking for its first Head Golf Course Superintendent to oversee our agronomic operations from construction to world-class status.
Your Role:
As the Head Golf Course Superintendent, you will lead the transition of our first course from construction to preview play in Fall 2025 and a grand opening in Summer 2026. Your influence will extend beyond that, as you establish the standards for future courses, positioning Wild Spring Dunes as an iconic golfing destination. You will guide the agronomy team in all aspects of turf maintenance, water management, and staff development, delivering outstanding conditions across a diverse landscape of towering pines, grassy meadows, and rugged ravines.

What You'll Do:
- Build the Foundation: Lead agronomic operations from the ground up, nurturing Course #1 through its grow-in phase to ensure top-tier playing conditions.
- Manage the Team: Hire, train, and supervise staff, setting clear performance expectations and maintaining consistency.
- Budget Planning and Management: Develop and oversee the annual maintenance budget, prioritizing quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain Course Conditions: To meet maintenance standards, care for turf, plants, and soil using an Integrated Pest Management approach.
- Oversee Water Systems: Manage irrigation, drainage, and water resources to keep the course in optimal condition throughout the year.
- Keep Us Running Smoothly: Implement a preventative maintenance program for all equipment and facilities, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay Ahead of the Game: Keep pace with industry innovations and actively participate in professional associations.
What You'll Bring:
- Expertise in Agronomy: A 4-year degree in Agronomy and at least 5 years of golf course maintenance leadership experience.
- A Track Record of Excellence: Membership in good standing with the GCSAA for 5+ years and experience maintaining high-quality playing conditions.
- Budget Savvy & Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated skills in budget management and planning.
- Leadership & Communication Skills: The ability to lead a team, solve problems, and adapt to changing conditions.
- Licensing & Certification: A valid license for golf course chemical application; GCSAA certification is a plus.
