*YOU MUST BE LOCATED IN INDIANAPOLIS OR TEXAS TO BE CONSIDERED*
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Oversee and manage the company's financial systems, ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
11. Collaborate with the construction team to understand, track, and report on project costs and profitability.
12. Provide expertise in basic roofing and construction, helping the team understand the financial implications of decisions in these areas.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, compliance, financial reporting, and financial statements.
2. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or other relevant certification is highly desirable.
3. Proven experience in managing AP, AR, and month-end reporting.
4. Basic knowledge of roofing and construction. Experience in these industries would be a significant advantage.
5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including non-finance teams.
6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
9. Experience with accounting software and databases.
