Director, Cloud Modernization will provide strategic direction on adoption of cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, Snowflake) and industry best practices in the field of data warehouse architecture and modellingYou WillDesign and develop scalable data architectures on cloud platforms to support a migration from on-prem to cloud as well as meet the go-forward data and analytics needs of the organization.Support development and implementation of a migration plan and roadmap from on prem data warehouse to the cloud (including serving as primary point of contact for an SI partner).Create and maintain documentation of the data architecture, flow, and models of the data warehouse for various stakeholders.Lead implementation efforts for Snowflake-based data modeling, schema design, and integration pipelines to address key business use cases
Includes optimizing data transformation, storage, retrieval, and query performance to ensure efficient processing of large-scale datasets.Lead and participate in the development of ETL/ELT workflows, particularly in the context of an on-prem to cloud migration.Ensure that automation and data strategy implementations are scalable, reusable, and integrated.Support implementation and maintenance of robust data security practices, including data encryption, role-based access controls, and data privacy measures, particularly in a healthcare context.Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and data governance teams to define mappings, transformations, and workflows to ensure data accuracy and consistency.Review business requirements documentation, technical design documentation, data flow documentation, and participate in peer review cycles with technical & non-technical counterparts.Act as a mentor for data and analytics team members on best practices for leveraging cloud infrastructure.Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.Other duties as assigned.Your QualificationsMasters Degree in Data Infrastructure, Analytics, Data Architecture, or Computer Science required5+ years Healthcare industry experience.2+ years design and development of training curriculum experience.2+ years presenting, facilitating, and delivering training experience.5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or similar role, with a focus on cloud-based data solutions.2+ years of experience in Snowflake cloud data platform and its components, such as virtual warehouses, data sharing, etc.2+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure and services, preferably Azure.Experience with FinOps and cloud infrastructure financial management.Hands-on experience in at least one large-scale migration from an on-prem data warehouse to Snowflake.Experience with Alteryx a strong plus.Experience with health care data and data models is strongly preferred.Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra is preferred.Experience with Streamlit apps is a plus.Experience with on prem data warehouse solutions (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS).Hands-on experience with supporting BI initiatives in Tableau, Power BI, and/or SSRS is a strong plus.Expertise in Snowflake data modeling in star, Snowflake, and data vault 2.0, SnowPipe, implementing stored procedures, and standard data warehouse conceptsUnderstand best practices in setting roles, access levels, and other data security procedures in SnowflakeExpertise in building scalable data ingestion and transformation solutions using Snowflake and tools such as Azure Data Factory and/or DBT, as well as data orchestration tools.Proficiency in SQL and ideally Python or other coding languages.Exceptional verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.What's in it for you?Base Pay Range: $177,500 to $284,000 annuallyWork Mode: Remote (Occasional travel to Long Beach, CA)An annual employee bonus programRobust Wellness ProgramGenerous paid-time-off (PTO)11 paid holidays per year, 1 floating holiday, birthday off, and 2 volunteer daysExcellent 401(k) Retirement Saving Plan with employer matchRobust employee recognition programTuition reimbursementAn opportunity to become part of a team that makes a difference to our members and our community every day!We're always looking for talented people to join our team!
