Head Of Engineering and Computing - Study Group

Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours) – Permanent

Location: Leeds, Leeds International Study Centre

Salary: up to £45,167.08 per annum

ABOUT THE ROLE

1. Provide leadership and vision to deliver excellent student outcomes, quality assurance, and curriculum innovation.
2. Lead and support the academic team, reporting to the Assistant Head of Curriculum and Progression.
3. Be accountable for the delivery of contractually required progression rates to the Universities.
4. Take responsibility for Foundation, IY1, or PMP (where applicable) matters within the programme area.
5. Communicate our vision to drive forward continuous improvement and enable the centre to achieve aspirational targets for student outcomes.
6. Contribute to planning and development including human resources, academic development, learning, teaching and assessment, and academic quality assurance and enhancement.
7. Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and take appropriate actions to enhance delivery.
8. Provide effective academic management and coordination of staff resources across the academic and progression support teams.
9. Ensure timely and compliant recruitment of academic staff.
10. Ensure the academic team meets key minimum expectations/compliance in their duties.
11. Contribute to compliance with Study Group’s and relevant external agencies’ quality frameworks and policies.
12. Contribute to progress against actions in the Centre Action Plan (CAP).
13. Ensure the centre's Quality Assurance framework is implemented across all academic teams.
14. Work closely with the Head of Registry and Operations and Head of Student Experience to ensure effective delivery of timetables and assessment schedules.
15. Ensure integration of current and relevant subject, academic skills, and language development in the programme.

ABOUT YOU

1. A Bachelor degree and a post graduate qualification.
2. A teaching qualification.
3. Experience of providing leadership in a complex multi-disciplinary environment.
4. Experience of providing feedback to improve performance.
5. Ability to delegate activities, set deadlines, and oversee successful completion.
6. Experience of leading internal communication effectively.
7. Experience of working with international students and understanding welfare and cultural issues.
8. Experience of data management, interpretation, and quality assurance.
9. Experience of working across an organization and with external partners.
