About the Job
The Head of Vendor Management and Support (HVMS) will lead several key functions within the Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management (SSVM) organization over 4 primary areas of critical enterprise services including: vendor assessment and controls, vendor management, contingent labor management, and SSVM support (tools., reporting, analysis). Each area has a distinct set of objectives/strategies that drive overall enablement to Guardian’s delivery of products and services through ensuring vendors are meeting contractual obligations, increasing, and enriched overall vendor performance transparency, ongoing vendor risk assessment and controls management, and governance across our contingent labor.
You will work closely with business leaders to develop, drive and deploy enterprise vendor management. Additionally, the HVMS will partner with many internal stakeholders as part of the vendor assessment and control’s function including: TPRM (third party risk management), Information Security, Compliance, Privacy, and Technology. It is essential to maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and executives throughout the enterprise to ensure service meets expectations, but more importantly effectively collaborate to create innovative solutions and overall improvements to work-flows and outcomes.
You will:
+ Develop the strategy and execution plan for deploying and leading the consolidated vendor management department which includes vendor risk assessment and controls, enterprise vendor management, contingent labor management/governance and other internal support services.
+ Define the vendor relationship management system requirements, select, and rollout with participation from other groups (e.g., Technology) that adequately provide the right level of transparency to vendor performance, risk, cost, opportunities, and other key information necessary to effectively provide a holistic view of our vendor landscape.
+ Monitor reporting, engagement, and other activities with vendors based on a revised vendor segmentation process that is anchored in a standard risk and business critically tiering methodology, in collaboration with partner organizations including but not limited to, Risk Management, Law, etc.
+ Collaborate with business colleagues and leaders across the organization to achieve a consolidated and uniform approach to vendor onboarding, risk assessment, and performance/obligation management.
+ Define success criteria and critical key performance indicators that can be used to manage service delivery and effectiveness.
+ Provide thought leadership and support for enabling technologies to the SSVM team, collaborating with category manager and Technology functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with Guardian’s tech environment and fitness for purpose of solutions implemented.
+ Oversee the reporting and analytics teams, supplying tools and defining processes that will provide insights on the performance of the Procurement function and identify areas of excellence and areas of opportunity.
+ Contribute to the relationship that category managers develop with suppliers, to identify continuous improvement initiatives to lower total cost of ownership while ensuring vendors meet or exceed quality standards.
+ Continue to evolve our contingent labor governance program to ensure onboarding, offboarding and contracting compliance.
+ Lead team members and colleagues through the necessary change management associated with new/enhanced processes, systems, accountabilities, etc.
+ Oversee the reporting and analytics teams, supplying tools and defining processes that will provide insights on the performance of the Procurement function and identify areas of excellence and areas of opportunity.
+ Contribute to the relationship that category managers develop with suppliers, to identify continuous improvement initiatives to lower total cost of ownership, while ensuring vendors meet or exceed quality standards.
+ Define and cultivate Guardian’s Supplier Enabled Innovation programs to leverage the supplier base expertise to address Guardian’s most pressing objectives.
You have:
+ 15+ years of demonstrated ability within supplier delivery/management, strategic sourcing and procurement operations, business management or a similar area of focus
+ Influencer with ability to drive alignment between varied stakeholders including suppliers and business partners and manage executive-level relationships and interactions.
+ Extensive knowledge of Supplier Management framework, methodology, approach, and risk mitigation
+ Strong business acumen and commercial skills to drive Supplier Management strategies.
+ Focused on results and strategically minded, aligning vendor relationships with the organization’s goals.
+ Strong understanding of supplier performance & key drivers for same
+ Identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
+ Proven track record to influence business partners when needed to institute vital changes.
+ Leadership experience in establishing core department strategies and goals that tie to broader enterprise priorities.
Reporting Relationships
The Head of Vendor Management and Support will report directly to the Head of Enterprise Sourcing and Procurement.

+ Hybrid role - 2 days in office, 3 days WFH in the Holmdel, NJ location.
Salary Range
$126,970.00 - $208,600.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
