Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Header Fitter Welder to join our team in Catoosa, Oklahoma. In this role, you will be responsible for fitting and welding components based on blueprints and specifications, utilizing various welding techniques. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of welding processes and tools and will be committed to precision, teamwork, and maintaining a high standard of workmanship in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints for accurate layout and welding of components.
- Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) as required.
- Set up and operate welding equipment for various welding tasks.
- Use tools such as hammers, wedges, drift pins, and grinders to fit and weld components, and grind rough edges.
- Position workpieces manually or with cranes for proper alignment before welding.
- Straighten warped parts using appropriate methods.
- Utilize cutting torches, plasma cutters, and measuring devices like tape measures, squares, and levels.
- Maintain production records and ensure accurate documentation.
- Adhere to attendance and punctuality expectations, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
- Foster respectful interactions with the public, customers, vendors, employees, and management.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and welding layouts.
- Expertise in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding techniques.
- Experience with welding tools and equipment, including hammers, wedges, drift pins, and grinders.
- Ability to use cutting torches, plasma cutters, and measuring devices.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in fitting and welding.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work overtime as required.
