Health Information Specialist - Lutheran Home

The Lutheran Home has an opening for a Temporary position for a Health Information Specialist. In this position, you will play a crucial role compiling, processing and maintaining medical records in our healthcare community. Come join us in our mission of providing dignified care at our top-rated residence for individuals 65 in the area. 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Process patient admissions and transcribe medical reports.
• Transmit correspondence or medical records by mail, e-mail or fax.
• Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Maintain medical records, technical library or correspondence files.
• Compile and record medical charts.
• Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
• Review records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Retrieve resident medical records for physicians, technicians or other medical personnel.

• Detail Oriented
• Administration and Organizational skills
• Previous medical records experience preferred
• Medication and medical terminology experience preferred
