Summary Description
As a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Planet Passionate Manager at Kingspan Insulation North America, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe workplace for all employees. You will work closely with management and staff to identify and mitigate potential hazards, conduct training sessions, and drive continuous improvement in our safety and environmental practices. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining our commitment to the well-being of our workforce and the sustainability of our operations.

Key Duties Include
Essential Duties
Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee and lead the organization’s WH&S Committee meetings and the National Planet Passionate working group.
- Guide and coordinate the creation and implementation of KINA’s Health, Safety, and Planet Passionate (Environmental) programs.
- Track and report performance metrics to enhance decision-making regarding Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and to embed HSE into business strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all company principles, policies, and requirements related to Health, Safety, and Planet Passionate goals.
- Maintain adherence to HSE-related legal and other requirements and establish a local network of internal and external contacts, including authorities and industry groups.
- Implement, monitor, maintain, and enhance all facilities' HSE Management systems, ensuring the maintenance of ISO14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
- Provide coaching and support to the Management Team, Plant Management Teams, and Line Managers to achieve KINA’s Health, Safety, and Planet Passionate objectives.
- Ensure the accurate entry, availability, and monthly reporting of HSE performance data.
- Lead KINA’s HSE risk assessment program, including assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions, and audits, with a focus on Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) and culture.
- Assist the IMS Quality Engineer with ISO audits and other compliance-related activities.
- Work with Management and HR on Return-to-Work Programs for both work-related and non-work-related injuries.
- Be prepared to travel up to 50% of the time.

- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and markets demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Education and/or Experience: A bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field, along with at least three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, managing capital projects, continuous improvement, mechanical engineering, and/or maintenance roles. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems is preferred. Experience in a lean manufacturing environment with a proven track record of leading problem-solving activities and projects is also preferred.
Must have:
- HSE management experience, including management systems, risk assessment, and accident/incident investigation in a manufacturing environment.
- Developed capability to understand and influence behavior in an industrial context.
- In-depth knowledge of national, state, and local legislation and industry codes
- Intermediate-level computer proficiency
- Structured, systematic problem-solving and improvement techniques such as 5S, SEA (Single Event Analysis), and Kaizen
- Experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental and/or Occupational Health and Safety systems
- Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication skills, effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Flexibility with work hours, including being "on call" as needed, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
- Ability to set and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with PSM (Process Safety Management) and/or PSA (Process Safety Analysis) is preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) are preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write complex reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate orally and written in English.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures by using advanced math skills, applicable to and consistent with an engineering degree.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in non-standardized situations.
