Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
• Hourly Rate: $48/hr
• Per Diem: $40/day (meals only)
• Client will cover mob, demob, and lodging expenses
• Client will pay for flight or rental car expenses if needed
• Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
• Hours: 84+ hours/week, Monday-Sunday
• Shift: 12-14 hours/day, 1st shift
Project Scope:
Disaster recovery for commercial storm damage. The Health & Safety Officer will oversee a team of 90 employees (temps) managing storm-damaged materials. The role includes relocating boxes, palletizing, and managing large equipment, including excavators removing damaged racks. The recovered materials, such as paper and cardboard, will be sorted, placed in Gaylord boxes, and shipped off-site. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to ensure safe operations.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of safety experience, with specific experience in storm damage recovery
• Certifications: OSHA 500 required
• Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is mandatory
• Strong management and communication skills to oversee 90 employees and large equipment
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Oversee the safety of a team working on disaster recovery from commercial storm damage
• Conduct safety inspections, employee orientations, and provide training as needed
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and regulations
• Manage safety-related documentation and communicate effectively with both English- and Spanish-speaking team members
• Oversee the safe operations of large-scale equipment used in the recovery process
