As a People Operations Director, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to making a positive impact. In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage People Operations activities for 350+ employees, providing day-to-day guidance and strategic oversight.
- Oversee comprehensive HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment and staffing, performance management, benefits and compensation administration, and organizational growth.
- Ensure compliance by interpreting and applying Devereux’s policies and procedures related to People Operations.
- Serve as a key senior leader, by working in a consultative role with key senior members of the center. Develops workforce strategies aligned with the center’s future needs and fostering partnerships with educational and community organizations to enhance Devereux’s reputation as an employer of choice.
- Create and implement targeted recruiting and development plans to bridge workforce gaps.
- Enhance retention and engagement by revising and executing staff engagement initiatives that promote employee well-being.
- Collaborate with a national network of PO Directors, leveraging collective expertise and support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree and HR certification (SHRM/HRCI preferred).
- Minimum of 6 years of HR management, ideally in behavioral healthcare, human services, or non-profit settings.
- Supervisory experiencerequired.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and state employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, OSHA, workplace harassment, wage and hour compliance).
- Proficiency in HR/Payroll Information Systems (e.g., Oracle) preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks independently.
- Ability to relate to diverse backgrounds, demonstrating sound judgment, emotional stability, and perceptiveness.
- Strong conflict resolution skills, maintaining a calm and effective leadership approach.
