Quality Enterprises is looking for a Heavy Equipment Manager to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Manager oversees the use, maintenance, and operation of the Companys fleet of heavy equipment and supervises the Companys heavy equipment mechanics, preventative maintenance technicians, welders, small tools mechanics, and other roles as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Manage department performance through coaching, ongoing feedback, performance reviews, reporting performance issues, administering of disciplinary action, etc.
- Review employee time keeping records.
- Review and approve invoices.
- Oversee safe equipment operation on all Company job sites.
- Ensure that all heavy equipment adheres to manufacturer usage guidelines and complies with all Company safety regulations.
- Track and log equipment use and associated operating costs, licenses, inspections, warranties, and service agreements.
- Advise the Executive Team on equipment issues and assist with equipment budgets.
- Allocate heavy equipment to job sites as needed ensuring timely assembly and removal.
- Ensure that equipment receives proper and necessary upkeep by scheduling routine preventative maintenance and repairs, utilizing equipment warranties when appropriate.
- In collaboration with the purchasing agent, develop best replacement practices and recommendations for Company equipment; assist with rental and lease agreements.
- Ensure that all equipment and operators comply with applicable DOT, federal, state, and local safety laws and requirements; confirm that operators understand and procure required licenses and permits.
- Utilize software to create and review work orders, verify repairs, plan mechanic work flow, and set preventative maintenance schedules based on OEM recommendations.
- Monitor GPS units; record and reconcile fuel usage.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree in logistics, business administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 of years experience in heavy equipment supervision required.
- Valid Class E Florida driver license with acceptable driving record required.
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of heavy equipment lifecycle management; equipment types and intended uses; DOT and state regulations and laws for all states with Company heavy equipment required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Required.
- High degree of technical aptitude required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, or stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- This role involves frequent visit to job sites requiring personal protective equipment.
- While performing the duties of this role, the employee could be frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate (office/training room) to loud (shop, warehouse, and job sites.)
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
