JOB TITLE: Heavy Equipment Mechanic
REPORTS: Ferrous Operations Manager
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, non-exempt
LOCATION: 127 Fillmore Ave. Buffalo NY, 14210
HOURS: Monday – Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
COMPENSATION: $25-30/hour, based on skills and experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
REPORTS: Ferrous Operations Manager

COMPENSATION: $25-30/hour, based on skills and experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on all diesel vehicles, heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
- Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel and gas engine machines.
- Diagnose and repair heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts, skid steers, etc.)
- Repair, replace, recondition, dissemble, weld, and examine parts and engines.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
- Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.
- Communicate with coworkers and customers with a professional attitude.
- Operate heavy equipment as business needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years’ heavy equipment/diesel mechanic experience
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds)
- Squat and kneel.
- Bend and twist as appropriate
- Sit/Stand for long periods at a time.
