About the Job
The mechanic provides construction fleet motorized equipment and component evaluation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair in support of the completion of large-scale building construction projects.
Responsibilities:- Examine motorized equipment and related components for damage or malfunction.
- Test motorized equipment systems and components.
- Adjust, repair, and replace motorized equipment and components.
- Review work orders, discuss work with Supervisors.
- Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and own experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in fleet equipment, rental, maintenance, and or repair of motorized equipment.
- Seeking experience in the repair of construction equipment such as hand tools, concrete finishing machines, concrete mixers, general small engines, air compressors, all terrain forklifts, trucks / vans (fleet maintenance), and general shop equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required.
- Ability to travel, including overnights, required.
- Satisfactory completion of drug screening test and background check required.
- Team-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and complete tasks with a strong sense of urgency.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to various personalities and situations.
- A willingness to work independently with minimum supervision and use independent judgment.
- CDL License.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employees will spend their time in a warehouse/shop environment or traveling to different sites to do job site walking.
