Heavy Haul Dispatcher - Hohl Industrial Services Inc

We are currently seeking a Heavy Haul Dispatcher to coordinating the logistics of transportation loads, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of often large-scale, oversized, and heavy equipment to various project sites. One would have close communication with drivers, project managers, clients and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all safety, permitting, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on the distribution and usage of Company vehicles. (i.e. Pick-up trucks) in conjunction with the Labor Superintendent
• Ensure all personnel operating a vehicle for work related business are properly entered in the LENS system with periodic review.
• Schedule and coordinate the mobilization of large equipment in conjunction with PM team.
• Supervise and direct work assignments and monitor performance of Drivers
• Ensure proper and timely completion of audit logs on a daily and monthly basis
• Schedule vehicle inspections and maintenance and provide reporting as required
• Schedule and dispatch drivers, trucks and other service vehicles to appropriate locations according to Project Manager or Customer requests, specifications, or needs
• Coordinate and manage the most cost-efficient loads. Identify and evaluate needs to properly plan loading and unloading
• Solicit and execute third-party trucking as appropriate
• Audit trailers and tie-down equipment to ensure compliance to safety standards
• Obtain all necessary permits for oversized loads and ensure adherence to state and local regulations, coordinating with permitting agencies as required
• Perform routine reviews of drivers' logs to ensure compliance with company policy and industry regulations
• Respond to and resolve issues that arise during transport, including delays, equipment malfunctions, and route modifications
• Collaborate with the Safety Department to monitor load securement and ensure all safety protocols are followed during transportation
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma. An equivalent amount of directly applicable work experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
• Three (3) plus years of fleet management and/or heavy-construction equipment related experience.
• Rigging experience a plus

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with construction contracts, schedules, and cost management.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in an industrial environment.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the industrial construction sector.
