Responsibilities:
- Assembly and disassembly of any or all components and accessories on large drilling equipment and foundation piling equipment; including but not limited to hydraulic cylinders, hoses, lines, pumps, and controls; undercarriage assemblies; gearboxes; final drives; operators compartment assemblies, and equipment electrical components utilizing mechanics hand tools and power-driven tools. In addition, Welding, and fabrication repair of steel components for drilling tools such as drilling buckets, augers, core barrels and other ground engaging tools and piling equipment a plus.
- In-house Shop Technicians will work at our facility located in Coraopolis, PA
- Field Technicians travel requirements - 60% regional Travel (overnight) and occasional nationwide travel
- Company vehicle provided for Field Technicians
- Perform thorough diagnostic testing of mechanical and electrical systems to isolate potential problems.
- Write detailed service reports, look-up parts, and complete parts order requisitions and other related paperwork.
- Completes repairs and P.M.'s on Drilling equipment and Pile Driving equipment within the required period.
- Perform diagnostic testing of mechanical and electrical systems to isolate potential problems.
- Perform repairs on Rental Fleet equipment, including but not limited to hydraulic cylinders, hoses, lines, pumps, motors, and controls.
- Safely and efficiently assemble and disassemble drilling equipment for inspection and repairs.
- Completes check in / check-out inspection sheets for rental equipment.
- Cleans and washes equipment.
- May perform minor repairs at job site locations.
- Notifies Service Manager of suspected customer damage immediately upon identification. Completes quality control service tags when inspecting rental equipment.
- Experience working on heavy construction equipment with an emphasis in electronics, CAN-bus wiring, hydraulics, power trains, is desired.
- Read and understand hydraulic and electric schematics a plus.
Qualifications and requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED and Vocational Certification are the minimum formal education requirements for this position.
- Mechanical knowledge: minimum 2 years (Required)
- Must be able to work independently
- Hand tools are required to perform above mentioned tasks.
- Valid Driver's License (Required)
