National Salvage and Service is seeking to hire a Heavy Power Equipment Mechanic which is based out of our office in Bloomington, Indiana.

Essential Job Functions:
- Work on heavy equipment, trucks, and service vehicles
- Maintain knowledge and adherence to all safety policies
- Conduct vehicle/equipment inspections and diagnostic tests; identify and resolve worn, broken, or damaged parts.
- Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system problems and consider possible solutions.
- Maintain vehicles/equipment using preventive maintenance procedures that meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Maintain shop equipment per operating instructions; troubleshooting and repairing or coordinate repairs; maintaining supplies.
- Performs inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Greases, oils, and lubricates components during preventive maintenance service.
- Works under limited supervision
- Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company Policy, and performs all work per established safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- You will need to be able to meet deadlines and be self-motivated
- Deep working knowledge of Hydraulics and Diesel vehicles.
- Need experience using mig and stick welding processes
- Must provide own hand tools
- 100% commitment to safety, quality and best practice
- Must have skills in cutting with torches and plasma cutters
- Minimum of 2 years of Professional Diesel Mechanic Experience.
- Physical Requirements: Stand, Walk, Climb, Bend, Twist, Move Throughout the Day, Use Hands in Repetitive Motions, Repeat Same Movements, work comfortably in an indoor and outdoor environment. Exposed to all weather elements.
