Your Role as a Helicopter Operations Coordinator
As a Helicopter Operations Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our helicopter fleet. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and coordinating daily and weekly flight schedules, considering seasonal changes and operational requirements.
- Collaborating with scientific researchers to ensure their needs are met and flight schedules align with their research objectives.
- Maintaining accurate flight logs, including passenger lists, group usage, and operational data.
- Utilizing technology to track helicopter operations and provide real-time updates.
- Prioritizing safety and identifying potential issues to ensure the well-being of all personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in aircraft operations, logistics, or resource coordination.
- Experience working in a remote field environment, preferably in Alaska or other Arctic regions.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, and Excel.
- A passion for adventure, science, and making a difference.
Work Schedule:
This is a seasonal position with intermittent onboarding and safety training scheduled between May 1-22. The expected work schedule will typically consist of 54-63 hours per week, with hours varying based on helicopter schedules, weather conditions, and research team needs.
