Wood Personnel Services has partnered with a leading building services organization to fill a Desktop Support / Help Desk role. This position involves providing front-line technical support, focusing primarily on software and OS troubleshooting for end-users. The role is ideal for individuals skilled in Windows environments who can effectively manage ticketed support requests via email, with occasional phone follow-ups.
Compensation for the Help Desk Specialist
- Up to $25 per hour Depending on Experience
- Temp-to-hire based on performance
- Includes Medical, Dental, Vision, etc.
Responsibilities of the Help Desk Specialist
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users, focusing on Windows OS and Microsoft Office troubleshooting.
- Manage and resolve incoming support tickets primarily via email, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Perform basic tasks such as operating system reinstalls, imaging/reimaging, and software installations.
- Troubleshoot common issues related to web browsers and Gmail support, including filter creation and general settings.
- Document and communicate effectively to clarify and address vague ticket descriptions.
- Participate in training for the in-house CRM and adapt quickly to its use.
Requirements of the Help Desk Specialist
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience in basic IT troubleshooting, preferably in a help desk or desktop support role.
- Strong communication skills for clear written and verbal support with end-users.
- Familiarity with managing support tickets and escalating issues as needed.
- Local candidates preferred for an in-person interview process.
