About the Job
- Provide in-person and over-the-phone Tier 1 help desk support to both company employees and third-party users.
- Manage Active Directory user and computer accounts.
- Walk users through the problem-solving process; whenever possible.
- Document helpdesk support incidents.
- Identify and escalate technical issues requiring urgent attention; work with service providers to escalate third-party helpdesk tickets as required.
- Perform root cause analysis of technical problems to reduce the likelihood of future occurrences.
- Install computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Provide computer training to new employees… and train all employees on the use of commonly used software.
- Install and manage network printers and troubleshoot printer connectivity issues.
- Perform software installations and updates.
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
- Track and route problems and requests, and document resolutions.
- Provide support on Office 365 applications and hosted VoIP service.
- Keep computer and computer peripherals inventory up to date.
- Stay current with fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware, and other equipment.
- Identify and suggest possible improvements to existing procedures.
- Manage user accounts on third-party systems.
- Energetic individual who is motivated to learn new skills and technologies.
- Have strong technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand a technical problem and explain its solution.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Understanding of basic computer networking.
- Ability to identify customers’ needs and offer appropriate solutions.
- Ability to explain IT concepts to users with limited technical knowledge.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and provide technical support for incoming requests from users made in-person, or by telephone and e-mail.
- High School diploma.
- A+ or N+ certifications are a plus.
