Job Description:
We are currently seeking highly qualified, self-motivated interns to accelerate our research towards new computing systems architectures at Hewlett Packard Labs.
Hewlett Packard Labs is the central research organization for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Our purpose is to deliver breakthrough technologies and technology advancements that provide a competitive advantage for the company, by investing in technology areas of interest to HPE and getting the resulting technologies ready for adoption into new and existing markets.
The Systems Architecture research team is diverse, with a broad range of skillsets and expertise that enables the exploration and development of new ideas not possible in more traditional monolithic research organizations.
Job Description
We are seeking highly qualified candidates to come join one of our research teams as an intern, where you will contribute to research projects focused on developing a new generation of compute and networking technology. Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the design, development, and testing of interconnected systems (hardware, software and firmware) for a new generation of compute and networking technology.
- Collaborating with researchers and engineers to identify and address technical challenges related to system-level development, optimization, and integration with networking, storage, compute, and cloud technologies
- Developing and maintaining software related to embedded systems
- Analyzing and optimizing system performance in resource-constrained environments
Education and Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Coursework or experience in computer architecture, embedded systems, digital logic, microcontrollers, and programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Go, Rust or Assembly is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of computer organization, including memory hierarchy, I/O systems, and interrupt handling
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
