Brooklyn Public Library's Adult Learning Literacy Office seeks a highly organized, responsible, and dedicated full-time High School Equivalency (HSE) Case Manager to provide quality professional, educational and administrative support for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program Area 1 and HSE pathways including GED and NEDP.
Responsibilities:- Assist with departmental wide program outreach, recruitment, information sessions, enrollment, monitor participants’ attendance, student placements, class rosters, transfers, retention, orientation, referrals, assessments, and outcomes for WIOA Program Area 1 and HSE pathways (GED and NEDP)
- Triage multi-line HSE hotlines, emails, voicemails, etc.
- Coordinate, plan, and facilitate program enrollment sessions for integrated education and training classes (front desk representative and guestroom attendant certification, etc.)
- Provide support for students to ensure their needs are being met in WIOA HSE classes (provide case management services)
- Effectively work with adults in an educational setting: pre-screen requests for program services both in person and via telephone/email; ability to obtain and manage required documentation and enter internal and external data in a timely and accurate manner
- Serve as HSE examiner (GED proctor)
- Highly organized and possess the ability to host and faciliate intake and orientation sessions
- Monitor and post program social media accounts, assist with marketing, prepare quarterly program newsletters, class schedules, etc.
- Attend trainings and meetings as needed (NYC RAEN minimum 14 hours)
- Support all administrative work for Program Area 1 and HSE Pathways including GED and NEDP and maintain all departmental flyers and correspondences for internal and external use. Able to translate program materials in Spanish for external use
- Data Entry in NYS ASISTS database
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Liberal Arts, or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in adult education, training, or workforce development plus 1-year supervisory experience required
- Knowledgeable of grant funded programs and experience with successfully implementing
- Ability to work with adults in an educational setting
- Able to mutlitask effectively and strong project management skills
- Must be willing to travel between program sites and to perform the duties of the position from any site
- Available to work flexible hours including some evenings and Saturdays as required
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish (spoken and written) strongly preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office and clerical experience required
- Specific experience with ASISTS, Google Classroom, Zoom, MS Teams. Experience not just entering data, but running and analyzing data reports and taking action to improve data quality and outcomes
- Must have strong ability to multi-task, meet deadlines as needed, work in a high paced environment, take initiative and work independently with high standards
- Ability to type a minimum 50 wpm.
Work Schedule: Able to work day, evenings, and Saturdays. Willing to travel to various program sites as needed. Starting salary: $56,918.
Schedule:
Mon/Wed/Fri 9:30am-5:30pm
Tues/Thurs 12:45pm-8:00pm
Saturdays 9:30am-4:00pm
