About the Job
- Operate high temperature vacuum furnaces: Load, unload, and operate furnaces according to established procedures and specifications
- Monitor furnace performance: Monitor temperature, pressure, and other critical parameters to ensure optimal operation and product quality
- Maintain furnace equipment: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting
- Record and document furnace operations: Maintain detailed logs of furnace runs, including temperature profiles, pressure readings, and any deviations from standard procedures
- Inspect, clean and evaluate finished products: Inspect materials and components for defects and ensure they meet quality standards. Proper handling of fragile machined graphite parts is paramount
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Post-processing of graphite parts after furnace operations
- Working/communicating well with other employees
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience operating high temperature vacuum furnaces (1,000-2,000°C)
- Strong understanding of vacuum technology and furnace operation principles
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
