Hours: 4:30 am - 1:00 pm M-F with a 30-minute lunch.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends if needed.
SUMMARY
Provides skilled electrical work of the journeyman level in the installations, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution
equipment ranging from 480 volts to 5 kilovolts and up.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Performs Routine Tasks on Electrical Equipment and Systems Installs, repairs, maintains, and services emergency power distribution equipment including generators, transfer switches, metal clad switchgear, circuit breakers, fuel systems and
related low voltage and medium voltage equipments and distribution systems.
Power Monitoring and Reporting Installs temporary recorders on equipment and provides report on operating conditions to
supervisor. Emergency Response Responds to emergency calls regarding all electrical distribution into buildings in the entire Houston
area. Project Support Provides project support, commissioning, inspections and coordination of outages of electrical systems for
both O&M and Project Management groups. Performs Corrective & Preventive Maintenance Tasks Uses electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical equipment and support other departments in troubleshooting their equipment. Troubleshoots electrical distribution
equipment and replace or repair defective components. Read, interpret and field verifies electrical schematics, blueprints
and floor plans.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized apprenticeship. Eight years experience in journeyman level electrical work involving interior and exterior wiring and the repair of electrical equipment. Licensed journeyman electrician or Master electrician in the State of Texas.
