Selectek has a contract-to-hire opportunity in Hampton, GA for a talented Mechanical Designer to play a key role in developing high-voltage switchgear products. You'll leverage your strong mechanical background and design skills to create detailed drawings and bills of material that ensure product functionality and smooth assembly.

Responsibilities:

• Design and draft detailed drawings, layouts, and sketches for switchgear components.
• Generate comprehensive bills of material for assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers to review and process production orders.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and structural calculations to support design decisions.
• Implement design changes assigned by senior engineers, considering technical implications.
• Assist with erecting switchgear products for testing purposes (optional).
• Process orders and drawings related to engineering services (optional).

Qualifications:

• Associate of Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ years of experience in mechanical design
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (highly preferred)
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and applications
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
