CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Highway Engineer- Entry Level to join our Infrastructure - Transportation/Highway & Rail Team at our office in Keene, NH. 

CHA was founded more than 70 years ago to design innovative transportation infrastructure. Our highway professionals have planned, developed and provided solutions to municipalities, metropolitan planning organizations, public and private authorities, and state transportation agencies. Addressing the immediate travel needs and expectations of today’s society and anticipating the mobility and modal challenges and opportunities of the future requires comprehensive planning, engineering and a commitment to innovation and sustainable design. CHA’s transportation team embraces new challenges from roads and highways to roundabouts and rail lines.

Working closely with professional engineers, the Highway Engineer- Entry Level assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, this individual works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements. 

The Highway Engineer- Entry Level aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The professional in this role performs simple calculations and engineering designs using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc. Additionally, this individual solves routine problems by applying defined procedures, and attends field assignments when appropriate.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related required
• EIT certification preferred
• No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
• Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
• Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
• Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
