Highway Maintenance Worker - QPS Employment Group

Position Title: Highway Maintenance Worker
 
Wage: $27.00 - $30.00/hour

Shift: 1st Shift

Hours: 7:00AM - 3:00PM (Monday - Friday)

A commercial driver's license, CDL, and previous experience with road construction equipment is required for this position.

Highway Maintenance Worker Responsibilities:
- Maintains highway right-of-ways; mowing grass, cutting trees and brush, repairing washouts, spraying weeds and picking up trash
- Operates snow removal equipment
- Performs maintenance duties including setting up snow fences, shoveling bridges, patching potholes, filling cracks,  repairing/replacing guard railings, posts, bridges and markers
- Operates heavy construction equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance and simple repairs on tools and equipment
- Completes reports of machinery and materials used

Requirements For Highway Maintenance Worker:
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- At least two years of experience with backhoes, dozers, skid loaders, road grader, etc.
- High School Diploma or any combination of education and work experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Prior construction experiences preferred
- Able to work outdoors 100% of shift
- Working outside up to 100% of the time, and exposed to temperature extremes (heat, cold, snow, ice, rain)
- Able to stand, walk, lift, bend, twist, shovel, kneel and climb ladders
- Able to use tools and equipment including hammers, wrenches, power tools, chainsaws, shovels, brooms, trucks, material handling equipment, mowers and heavy construction equipment
