JMT is seeking a Project Manager to join their Highways Group in Round Rock or San Antonio, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of complex projects and assists Office Leader and Section Heads with business development, financial management of projects, and management of staff at the local level.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist with strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
- Assist with growth of market presence in area through marketing and business development
- Active participation in professional organizations
- Review project pricing and budgets
- Manage subconsultants
- Lead client presentations
- Manage financial budget for projects and allocate resources accordingly
- Lead the production of proposals
- Lead team preparation for project interviews
- Serve as a technical expertise resource to project engineers and technical staff
- Identify resources for staffing needs
- Assist with interviews and hiring of staff for the Highway Group
- Conduct performance reviews for staff based on input from project engineers on assigned teams
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

- Willingness to oversee the design and production of quality plans
- Ability to manage concurrent projects
- Understanding and ability to manage key performance metrics
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer License or equivalent
- 10+ years’ experience in highway planning and design
- Project management and business development experience
Preferred Experience
- Supervisory experience
- Experience working with federal, state, and local governmental agencies
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
