HIM Charge Analyst - Sampson Regional Medical Center

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Charge Analyst to join the HIM team!

Description:

The selected candidate will review, analyze, and assign charges as outlined by E/M, charging, and coding guidelines. Maintains quality and ethical standards. Works with nurse managers to ensure all CPT codes can be accurately and completely captured. Codes to the highest level of specificity to accurately depict the clinical picture. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. This position will serve as back up to the HIM Analyst position as needed.

Requirements:

• Associates degree in Health Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Notary Public Required.
• Previous Health Information/Medical Office experience preferred.
• Experience with an electronic and/or hybrid health information system preferred.
• Knowledge of charging guidelines for E/M levels, and other charging completed in HIM.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of charging guidelines for hierarchy for infusions and injections.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships and communication with medical staff, and other members of the health care team.
• Ability to read, comprehend and relay regulatory requirements, guidelines and information in order to ensure compliance with such information.
• Strong computer skills, including: Word, Excel/Access, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to multi-task and well organized.

Hours:

This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4:30PM. Other hours may be required for the effective operation of the department.
