Job Summary
Responsible for the preparation, scanning, deficiency analysis and quality review of scanned patient record images. Responsible for completeness and accuracy of content, accurate assignment of deficiencies, and appropriate indexing and image quality management.
Education High School Graduate or equivalent required; completion of an approved medical terminology course preferred. Prefer the successful completion of a medical office or medical assistant training program.
Licensure / Certification Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) preferred. Experience Must have a minimum of six months experience in a Health Information Management Department or physician/medical office environment.
Computer/Typing/Math Skills Must have experience with Windows-based computer applications. Must be able to operate document scanning equipment, fax machine, microfilm reader/printer, laser printers, copiers and computers. Ability to accurately type 30-40 wpm is desired.
Job Specific Requirements Ability to work in a fast paced environment required; ability to multitask and accurately prioritize tasks required; excellent verbal and communication skills required; ability to work closely with others required; ability to work independently required; Must be motivated and able to follow through on tasks (required.)
Hours of Work Able to work scheduled hours as dictated by business needs. Weekend shifts required; overtime hours required as dictated by workload.
