Full-Time - HIM Manager

We would like for you to consider our HIM Manager opportunity for our new hospital and carry out our vision of bringing communities, healthcare providers, and families together to improve behavioral health, one patient at a time. We provide psychiatric care to geriatric patients who require inpatient hospitalization due to mental disorders like cognitive illnesses. Our 16-bed hospital will be adjacent to NHC HealthCare Maryland Heights, a 220-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center.
As HIM Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of the daily operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department.
Position Highlights:
• Maintain department productivity, quality, and efficiency for all processes within the department.
• Lead and direct health information management services across the facility.
• Oversee data collection, storage, retrieval, filing and retention of medical records/data.
• Audit records and data for accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Review results with medical staff, nursing, and clinical staff.
• Maintain approved levels of security and confidentiality of records/data.
• Interview, select, train and orient new employees to the department.
• Supervise medical records staff, coordinating schedules, delegating work assignments.
• May oversee and complete coding according to current ICD and CPT coding classifications.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma minimum required. Bachelor's degree with specialization in health information administration preferred.
• Experience: Two (2) years' experience managing/supervising a medical records department preferred. Minimum of one-year behavioral health experience preferred.
