*Job Summary:* As the Histology Technician, you will be responsible for preparing Gastroenterology tissue specimens for microscope examination.
*Responsibilities:*
Performing routine histology procedures including staining and paraffin sectioning.
Cutting tissue specimens.
Assure appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling.
Properly embedding processed tissue.
Preparing and maintaining reagents and laboratory equipment.
Maintain procedures and records to meet all regulatory standards.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain the integrity of the specimen and patient identification.
Accurately prioritize and triage specimens.
Handle and dispose of biohazards and/or chemically hazardous material based on the laboratory's procedure manual.
Ensure compliance with regulatory policies.
Maintain work priorities for maximum workstation efficiency.
Perform other duties as necessary for efficient operation of the department.
*Education and Qualifications:*
HT (ASCP) certified required.
