MUST:
The Lead Histotech must have the following:
6+years of experience as a Histotech
Looking to get into a Lead
Troubleshooting equipment
Grossing experience
Performing laboratory validations (Reagents, Lots)
Handling quality assurance checks and creating reports
Preparing reagents
Evaluating control slides
Performing Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Sectioning paraffin blocks
Experience in a gastro practice preferred
ASCP Certification / Bachelor s Degree in Science
DUTIES:
The Duties of the Lead Histotech include but are not limited to the following:
Produce high quality accessioning, staining, embedding, cutting and processing of tissue specimens
Train and lead staff, and create staff schedules
Check maintenance charts for deviations and errors
Handle quality assurance checks, logs and reports
Perform laboratory validations (lots, reagents, etc.)
Trouble-shoot lab equipment and instruments
Section paraffin blocks
Stain and coverslip slides
Perform staining procedures
Prepare reagents and evaluates control slides
Performs Immunohistochemistry (IHC) testing
Perform various duties for histologic preparations
