Responsible for the overall operation of the agency’s programs according to approved policies, procedures and standards. Functions under the compliance of HHSC regulations. Responsible for monitoring appropriate job performance and assisting with evaluations and counseling of staff. Assists staff with quality improvement, data, recruitment and selection, program evaluation, grant requirements and reports, continuing education, and performance evaluations. Maintains the image of the agency in the communities the agency serves, and in state and national organizations. Keeps the agency abreast of local, state and national trends.
Administrator's responsibilities include:

Administrator's responsibilities include:
- Managing staff and departments: Overseeing the staff and departments at a home health agency, including hiring and managing nurses and other health care staff.
- Adhering to guidelines: Ensuring that the agency adheres to guidelines on quality of care, and in some cases, creating those guidelines.
- Budgeting and resource planning: Being proficient in budgeting and resource planning.
- Developing care plans: Developing and implementing care plans for patients.
- Monitoring performance: Monitoring job performance and assisting with evaluations and counseling.
- Supporting patients: Supporting patients by utilizing community and family resources to create sustainable support systems.
- Coordinating meetings: Requesting and coordinating team and patient meetings as needed.
- Escalating care management: Escalating care management when medical assessment is needed.
- Bring in and maintain referral sources to generate referral for the agency.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from a college or university in a health related field of study with a minimum of two years of experience in public health. OR
- Preferred but not required graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing with an Iowa license, BSN preferred, with a minimum of two years of experience in public health.
- Hold an HHSC regulated Administrator license.
